Welcome to Qanuikkat Siqinirmiut Health Survey

A collaboration between Qavvivik Inuit Family and Community Health Centre and the research team at the Université Laval

The Qanuikkat Siqinirmiut? (how are the people in the south?) Health survey aims to describe the health and well-being of Siqinirmiut (Inuit living in southern Quebec) from an Inuit point of view. The information will be used to build capacity to address community needs and support the development of Inuit-specific services.

The research project, which began in 2018, is conducted as a partnership between Qavvivik Inuit Family and Community Health Centre, an Inuit controlled organization, and researchers at the Université Laval.

The survey phase of the project is beginning in May 2024. We are inviting Inuit living in the south to take the survey. It takes about an hour to fill out and you will be accompanied by an Inuktitut speaker and support staff. The survey is available in English, Inuktitut and French.

Interviews are being done at our offices in Verdun on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10 am to 4PM.  $30 compensation, a gift and information is offered to all participants.

Funding for the project comes from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, ArcticNet, and Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami.

The data from the survey are owned and controlled by Inuit organizations.
